Yesterday I updated OS X from 10.6.4 to 10.6.7 which necessitated updating the firmware on my CalDigit RAID card in my MacPro. I followed all of the instructions from CalDigit on how to accomplish this since this is a production machine and I can't afford for it to go down. Inside of this MP I have a 4 drive internal RAID consisting of 4 2TB drives in a RAID5 configuration using CalDigits RAID card. When I installed this RAID a few months ago I ran AJA's SpeedTest on it and got this:
After the updates yesterday, I got this:
That's a pretty significant write speed change that I am happy about!
I don't know what did it, but I am happy
